Facebook photo may have saved boy’s life

From the March 4, 2011, edition of U.K. newspaper The Sun:

“A doctor spotted a four-year-old boy had leukaemia after seeing his picture on Facebook.

Ted Rice’s worried dad Philip posted the photo on the social networking site after putting him to bed with a rash.

Pal Dr. Sara Barton recognised it as a symptom of acute lymphocytic leukaemia and sent a message saying Ted needed to go to hospital straight away.

He has now started a three-year course of chemotherapy.

Dad-of-two Philip and wife Sarah, 33, were told he has a 75 per cent chance of surviving.”
