CBC Maritimes seeking nominations for Maritimes Cultureville 2013

CBC Maritimes Cultureville 2013CBC Maritimes is looking for the most culturally vibrant community in the Maritimes to celebrate culture in Canada. It’s an opportunity for Maritimers to express their cultural passion for their city, town, village, or community. If you have a favourite place that has great music, cultural events, unique heritage or great artists and theatre, CBC wants to hear from you!

From September 3-10 Maritimers can visit www.cbc.ca/maritimes/cultureville or call toll-free 1-855-420-4115 to nominate their community. CBC’s Colleen Jones will visit the top 10 places and discover which one will be named Maritimes Cultureville 2013.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for Maritimers to show pride in the cultural fabric of their communities. We were thrilled last year when over 70 places were nominated to be Maritimes Cultureville. We’re looking forward to see who will be on the map this year and to discover all the cultural activities across the Maritimes,” says Peter Hall, Senior Regional Manager for Arts, Performance, and Documentary Programming.

On Thursday, September 26, at 6:30 p.m., join Colleen Jones when CBC Television in the Maritimes airs Maritimes Cultureville 2013. The 30-minute show will reveal the top 10 nominees and the countdown to the 2013 winning community.
